Gadson earns weekly Big 12 honors

Kyven Gadson was named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week following his 17-4 major decision of North Dakota State’s Kallen Kleinschmidt in Iowa State’s 22-18 dual victory on Sunday.
Gadson caught Kleinschmidt in a cradle twice during the match, tallying three back points each time. However, Gadson was unable to secure the pin at 197 pounds.
Gadson has not wrestled consistently since his senior year at Waterloo East High School, when he capped off the second of two undefeated seasons with a state title.
Gadson is now 6-0 this season and 3-0 in dual meets.
