Tyrus McGee displayed again why he is considered one of the best sixth-men in the country in Iowa State’s 76-61 win against UM-Kansas City on Tuesday night.

McGee made a career-high six 3-pointers to add to his game-high 20 points on the night. McGee was one of four Cyclones who cracked the double-digit mark on scoring as Chris Babb added 12, Korie Lucious had 11 and Anthony Booker had 11.

Booker also pulled down a career-high seven rebounds, while Lucious dished out eight assists.

UMKC was led by Estan Tyler with his career-high 17 points. With 16 minutes left in the ball game, the Roos led Iowa State 39-35 until the Cyclones took off on a 16-0 run from which they never looked back.

Iowa State now has a break until Jan. 1, when it hosts Yale.
