Iowa State falls to No. 18 UNLV

Iowa State lost its second straight game in Las Vegas to No. 18 UNLV 82-70. 

UNLV shot shot 26 more free throws and made 20 more to pull away from the Cyclones in the second half after it was a two-point ball game at the break. 

Iowa State was led by Will Clyburn with 21 points making six of his 17 shots from the floor, while Tyrus McGee finished with 12 and Melvin Ejim finished behind him with 10. 

UNLV played through a consensus top-100 recruit in Anthony Bennett, a former CIA Bounce AAU player, the same team Naz Long and Ejim played on. 

Bennett led all scorers with 22 points and added seven rebounds. Two more UNLV players ended in double digits.

Iowa State falls to 4-2 on the season, with two straight losses coming in Las Vegas. The team’s next game will be Saturday, Dec. 1, at home against BYU for “Color It Cardinal” night. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
