Cyclones lose at Texas Tech, remain winless in conference

The ISU soccer team lost to Texas Tech by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Lubbock, Texas.

The loss is the Cyclones (8-6, 0-3 Big 12) second of the weekend, as they lost 1-0 at No. 17 Oklahoma State on Friday night.

The Cyclones and Red Raiders went into halftime knotted at 1-1. ISU junior Theresa Kucera scored the only goal of the game for Iowa State on a penalty kick in the first half. The goal is Kucera’s second of the season.

Texas Tech (10-3, 2-1 Big 12) netted the eventual game-winning goal shortly after the start of the second half, earning its second win of the weekend, having defeated Oklahoma on Friday night, as well.

The Cyclones play host to TCU and West Virginia next weekend in Ames.
