The 26th annual Iowa Games came to a close during the weekend, wrapping up with events such as sand volleyball and a flag football tournament.

Athletes competed in events during the past three weekends in July.

The Iowa Games kicked off their evetns on July 7 and 8 with the triathlon and a new opening ceremonies schedule on July 13.

Directors at the Iowa Games said they hope to continue with the new form of opening ceremonies and hope to continue seeing a turn out like they had this year.

Executive directors will begin planning for next year’s Iowa Games towards the end of this week.
