This past weekend, the ISU women’s golf team tied for a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship in Lawrence, Kan.

The team competed strong throughout the tournament, finishing the first round in first place and going into the final round in second.

With strong final-round performances from Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor, however, Iowa State did not have enough to hang on to second place.

Oklahoma won the Big 12 title with a total score of 904. Close behind, Texas finished with 911, Baylor with 912 and Iowa State and Oklahoma State with 913.

The team had three players finish in the top 16. Punpaka Phuntumabamrung tied for eighth place with a score of 226. Sasikarn On-iam finished in 12th place with a score of 227. Prima Thammaraks tied for 16th place with a score of 231.

Iowa State has now earned its third NCAA Regional bid in a row. The team, ranked 37th, will play in the NCAA West-Regional on Thursday, May 10.
