ISU tennis team swept by No. 44 Oklahoma, 7-0

The ISU tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 44 Oklahoma on Friday to drop the Cyclones’ record to 3-13, 0-3 Big 12.

The Cyclones struggled in doubles play, with only one pair getting within four points. All three doubles teams lost to give the Sooners (8-8, 3-1) a 1-0 lead.

In singles play, Oklahoma dominated, winning every singles match in two sets except for in the No. 2 singles spot.

ISU freshman Ksenia Pronina dropped the first set 6-3, but rallied to win the second 6-1. She then lost the third set 1-0 (5).

The Sooners clinched the win after a victory by Mia Lancaster against ISU’s Simona Cacciuttolo in the No. 3 singles spot.

The Cyclones were swept for only the second time this season.

They will travel to Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday to face off against Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
