No. 1 Baylor runs away from Iowa State

After one half of basketball, it was all even.

The Cyclones played the first half of the Saturday’s game virtually neck-and-neck with the best team in the country tied 32-32 at the half.

The second half was a different story. No. 1 Baylor (31-0, 18-0 Big 12) pulled away in the second half from Iowa State (18-11, 9-9) to win the game easily, 77-53.

In the first half, the Cyclones made nine 3-pointers, which allowed them to stay in the game with the Lady Bears. The Cyclones were virtually ineffective in the second half, only scoring 21 points and making only one 3-pointer on 11 shots.

Arguably the nation’s best player, Brittney Griner led all scorers with a career-high 41 points, making 15-of-18 shots on senior day for the Lady Bears.

The ISU women will now head to Kansas City, Mo., to play Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday.
