ISU coach Paul Rhoads announced Sunday night that sophomore running back Shontrelle Johnson will likely be out for the remainder of the season following a neck injury he suffered on Oct. 1 against Texas.

“Shontrelle will be out again this week, more than likely he’ll be out for the remainder of the season,” Rhoads said.

Johnson did not travel with the team to either of the last two games at Baylor and at Missouri.

“It is a neck injury and they’re still trying to figure out the course of rehab for him, but more than likely he’ll be done for the season,” Rhoads said.

The DeLand, Fla., native gained 247 yards on 51 carries, caught five passes for 40 yards and returned six kicks for 157 yards before the injury.
