Texas waisted no time in proving which team is at the top in the Big 12 on Friday. The Longhorns (15-4, 9-1 Big 12) disposed of Iowa State (17-4, 8-2) in a 3-0 (25-14, 28-26, 25-21) sweep.

The Cyclones had trouble with the Texas block while having blocking problems of their own.

Bailey Webster and Khat Bell lead the Longhorns with 13 kills each. Haley Eckerman chipped in 10 kills and Rachael Adams finished with nine on the night.

Senior outside hitter Carly Jenson lead the Cyclones with 11 kills while hitting .231. Junior middle back Jamie Straube had the next-highest with eight kills, but also had five attack errors.

Iowa State finished the match with a .179 hitting percentage.

With the loss, Iowa State drops to second in the Big 12 while Texas takes over sole possession of first place in the conference.

The Cyclones play Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., on Wednesday.
