Presidential committee meeting today

The presidential search committee will be meeting this morning at 7:30 a.m. to discuss potential candidates and further narrow the search for the nest president of Iowa State.

“We’re hoping to whittle-down the number of applications we have,” said committee member, Steve Freeman, president of agricultural and biosystems engineering. “We’re not deciding who will be coming to campus, but we will be making the first cut.”

This meeting will be the first evaluation of potential candidates and will begin as an open session. However, it will be a closed executive session for most of the rest of the meeting and the candidates will not be revealed until they visit campus in coming months.

Students will not know who the next president is until it is announced in October.
