The parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins is looking to open locations in Iowa.

Vice President of franchising and market planning Grant Benson said the company is looking for franchisees who have experience with food service, operations and real estate to “help expand the brand’s footprint in Des Moines and the surrounding areas.”

Last year, Dunkin’ Brands opened 574 new locations worldwide and had 226 new franchise commitments in the United States. It reported global sales of $6 billion for 2010.

“In an effort to keep the brand fresh and competitive, Dunkin’ Donuts offers franchisees flexible design concepts including free-standing stores, end caps, in-line sites, kiosks and gas stations, as well as other retail environments,” according to a news release from the company.

The company said it would provide special development incentives to those who want to bring the franchise to Des Moines, Cedar Rapids or Sioux City.

Dunkin’ Donuts, founded in 1950, currently has 9,700 locations in 31 countries.
