Ballet ‘Swan Lake’ to be performed in Ames

Russian composer Pyotr llyich Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Swan Lake” will be performed by the Moscow Festival Ballet Sunday at Stephens Auditorium in Ames.

The story is about a princess who is turned into a swan by day and woman by night because of an evil curse. After a prince comes into contact with her and finds out her story, he falls in love with the swan woman.

The ballet was composed in 1875-1876, sprung from old Russian folk tales.
