Discounts descend on Main Street

Prizes literally fell from the sky during the Main Street Cultural District’s Snow Ball Drop promotion Dec. 2. Approximately 700 pingpong balls were thrown from a fire escape overlooking Tom Evans Plaza. Each ball was marked with a prize or discount from a Main Street business, and three held grand prizes of Main Street gift certificates.
Businesses were given the opportunity to offer prizes by sponsoring up to 50 pingpong balls — approximately 25 businesses took part.
