Iowa State continued its current hot streak, opening Big 12 play with a victory over the Baylor Bears.

The Cyclones (7-4) only trailed once by one point in game two and led wire-to-wire in games one and three, sweeping the Bears for the second year in a row to start conference play (30-23, 30-27, 31-29).

Iowa State used key runs late in the first two games to bust them open and opened up the third game 6-0, before a late Baylor was fought off by an ace by freshman Ashley Mass to finish the match.

Junior outside hitter Mary Bisenius continued her hot hitting, leading the team with 13 kills. Sophomore setter Kaylee Manns had 41 assists, and spread the ball around to a balanced hitting attack, which also included 13 kills from senior Lauren Cummings, 11 kills from junior Jen Malcom and nine kills from senior Erin Boeve.

Baylor outblocked the Cyclones 12.5 to 12, but the Cyclones outdug one of the best defending teams in the Big 12, 60-56.

Iowa State faces the Texas A&M Aggies in their Big 12 Conference home opener at 6:30 p.m Saturday.
