What do smooth beats, excellent rhythms and Mega Man have in common?

Nothing, until you listen to the nerdcore group Dual Core.

Dual Core is made up of c64, a graphic designer from England, and int eighty, a programmer from Ohio. Nerdcore refers to the subgenre of hip-hop typically sung by nerds and geeks who rap about “Counter-Strike,” the Web comic “Penny-Arcade” and “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” Dual Core is sure to please. Part of the lyrics to the song “Hostage Down” go “Deagle and scout, that’s my forte/You rush B, I’ll flank short A.”

Dual Core’s lyrics are so well-crafted that even a person who doesn’t keep up with video games or other “geek” activities can appreciate the music. The beats are fresh and the rhythm fits the lyrics like a Nintendo Power Glove. Each song brings a little something different to the table. “Zero One” has at least one song everyone can appreciate, and most people could get into this album if they would give it a listen.
