ISU gymnasts beat Iowa, again

The ISU women’s gymnastics team made it 17 in a row over Iowa with a 195.250-193.175 win Saturday in Iowa City.

Iowa State’s Sissy Huey placed first in the all-around with a season-high score of 39.350. Huey also captured first place honors on the uneven bars and tied for first on the floor exercise with teammate Shelly Kringen.

The win improves the Cyclones record to 4-1 and 0-1 in the Big 12.

ISU swim team loses to Missouri

The Iowa State swimming and diving team fell 167-133 Saturday to Missouri at the Beyer Hall Pool.

The Cyclones got first place finishes from sophomore Petra Plaminkova in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, senior Amber McDowell in the 200 butterfly and junior Carmella Nogar in the 200 IM. Sophomores Melissa Jensen and Sonja Groning also collected first place honors in the 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
