The information in the log is obtained from Department of Public Safety reports released to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in court.

June 26

* A white car was found parked illegally on Wallace Road. The owner was not in the area, and the vehicle was towed from the street.

* A resident living at Schilletter Village reported receiving several harassing telephone calls.

* Justin Pitt, Ryder, N.D., reported the theft of his cellular telephone while at Parks Library. Estimated loss was $250.

June 27

* Pierre Palo, 40D Schilletter Village, reported the driver’s side mirror on his vehicle was broken off during the night while parked at Schilletter Village. Estimated damage was $50.

* Iowa State Center staff reported a large window on the west side of Stephens Auditorium had been broken by a golf ball. Estimated damage was $1,500.

June 28

* Michael Glenn, Farragut, reported the loss or theft of his checkbook/wallet on central campus. Loss was estimated at $40.

* DPS assisted Mary Greeley Medical Center paramedics with a woman who had a wrist injury. The person was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center.

* Staff in Davidson Hall reported that sometime overnight someone had taken a can of white paint that was inside the south entrance of Davidson Hall and dumped it on the sidewalk and against the building.

* Shaukat Mahmood, 154C University Village, reported the loss or theft of his black computer bag. Loss was estimated at $40.

* Noureddin Alzuq, 215 Lynn Ave. #6, reported the theft of a mountain bicycle from the Durham Center area.

June 29

* During a routine traffic stop on Mortensen Parkway, Jae Hyoung Yoo, 29, 1300 Coconino Road, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Yoo was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* DPS student officers reported a dumpster fire at the loading dock at Ross Hall. The Ames Fire Department was contacted, and the fire was extinguished.

* Kumar Pathasarathy, 2410 Chamberlain Ave., reported the theft of his bicycle from the rack between Atanasoff Hall and the Durham Center. The incident actually occurred on June 16. Estimated loss was $200.

* Shannon Saurow, 4108 Buchanan Hall, reported the theft of her bicycle from the rack near Buchanan Hall. The incident actually occurred on April 14. Estimated loss was $100.

June 30

* DPS staff found an abandoned bike near Lot 1. The bike was impounded and placed in secure storage pending notification of the owner.

* A woman reported the theft of her shoulder bag from the basement level of Parks Library. The item was later located and returned to the owner.

* An ISU staff member reported losing a set of keys in Friley Hall.

July 1

* During a routine traffic stop at Elwood Drive and S. 16th St., Allyson R. Knutson, 19, Boone, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Knutson was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, possession of alcohol under the legal age and an open container violation. A passenger, Cecilia Baldus, 19, Boone, was charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age and an open-container violation.

* Christopher Ryan Grosz, 19, 412 Welch Ave., was observed in possession of alcohol while under the legal age near Knapp Street and Hayward Avenue. He was cited and released.

* Ronald Lee Salmons, Jr., Minneapolis, was observed in an intoxicated state at West and Woodland Streets. He was arrested for public intoxication. During the booking process at DPS, Salmons struggled with officers. He was additionally charged with interference with official acts and harassment of a public official.

July 2

* During a routine traffic stop at Pammel Drive and Bissell Road, Matthew Ross Hunter, 27, St. Paul, Minn., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Hunter was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* A hammer and four razor blades were found outside Davidson Hall. They were placed into secure storage.

* DPS received a hang-up 911 call from University Village. Responding officers spoke with the resident, who had just had an argument with her boyfriend. No charges were filed.

July 4

* Two textbooks were found in an University Book Store plastic bag against a guard rail near the Memorial Union guard rail. The books were placed in evidence for safekeeping.
