LFO lands in Ames

As boy bands continue their takeover of the world, LFO (Lyte Funky Ones), an Orlando-based threesome, will be in Ames this weekend.

In 1999, LFO (Rich Cronin, Brad Fischetti and Devin Lima) released their self-titled debut and scored with their first single “Summer Girls,” as it received heavy airplay on radio and TV stations.

Since then, LFO has served a month-long stint on Britney Spears’ winter tour, released two other singles and performed and also won an award at the 13th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.

LFO’s combination of pop, hip-hop, rap and R&B along with its goal to write a lot of original music has helped to set them apart from the other boy bands.

“We all write songs,” Fischetti said on the group’s Arista Web site biography. “When I’m in love, forget about it! The songs never stop coming.”

LFO’s current tour will end in the middle of June, and the members will soon embark on the Nickelodeon “All That” 2000 Tour with special guests Blaque and B’Witched.

You can catch LFO this Sunday at Stepehens Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., ticket prices are $23 in advance and $25 at the door.
