Woell column pure bigotry and stupidity

To the editor:

I thought Aaron Woell’s column on “Valentine’s Day” was hilarious. But then it turned out to be pure bigotry and stupidity!

You said “bad news travels faster than the speed of light, and rumors spread like AIDS in Africa.” I do not know how in the world you can compare the SPEED OF LIGHT and the SPREAD OF AIDS IN AFRICA together, Aaron.

I do not see any analogy between the two, whatsoever. Perhaps you have yet to understand the seriousness of AIDS in the world today.

Otherwise, you would have thought twice before you just dumped in your “perfect” illustration at the end of your article.

Geography 101: Africa is a continent consisting of 54 countries in 5 regions — North, South, East, West and Central Africa.

That is the same way Europe and America are divided. So, please, the next time you say anything about Africa, remember to give the exact location, and don’t just generalize the whole continent.

It’s about time ignorant people like you start treating Africa and Africans right.
