About 50 people gathered Thursday night in the Maintenance Shop for an evening of poetry and short stories.

Gunnar Benediktsson, graduate student in English, served as master of ceremonies for the Word of Mouth Production’s Canadian Remembrance Fiesta.

Benediktsson opened up the event by commenting on the differences between Canadian Remembrance Day and the United States’ Veterans’ Day and by giving some fun facts about Canada.

After the opening remarks, students shared their original works with the audience. The room was comfortably filled while people listened attentively to the original literature from student poets and authors.
