“Shakespeare in Love” — “It was an absolutely brilliant weaving of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with the lives of the main characters. It was well-acted, and the language was poetic. It was a great movie.”

Favorite lunch spot — “If I had no constraints, I’d enjoy eating at the Knoll. More for the company than anything else.”

Favorite musicians — “It’s probably a toss-up between the Cleveland Symphony and the Four Tops.”

Traveling back in time — “There are several events I’d like to see — Kitty Hawk, the Wright brothers’ flight, the trial of Socrates was an exciting moment, settling World War II on the Missouri. When we first landed on the moon was a spectacular moment in time. I never thought it would be better overall to go back in time. I’ve always been more future-oriented than wanting to live in another time.”

Dipping — “I don’t dip — french fries or tobacco. I like my fries salted, of course.”

If I had a million dollars … — “I’d probably buy a fun car to drive. I’d undoubtedly build a much nicer vacation house than the one my family has at present. I’d invest most of it and keep doing what I’m doing.”

Pet peeve — “I’m annoyed by people who are inconsiderate of others. One sees it in lots of ways. People who make others the butt of jokes, people who violate traffic laws, people sneaking in line; that sort of thing really annoys me.”

Fight: Klinger from “M*A*S*H” vs. Gopher from “The Love Boat” — “Klinger [would win] unquestionably. Klinger is a military person; he’s trained for combat. Klinger is pretty manipulative; he works hard to get things done. Gopher is about love.”
