A front-page story in the July 1 edition of the Iowa State Daily about upcoming Homecoming events mistakenly quoted David Critchlow from ISU’s Alumni Services as saying a house will be built in Ames in conjuction with Habitat for Humanity “hopefully, the Sunday before the Iowa Games.”

In fact, Critchlow said the house should be built the Sunday before the Iowa football game, not the Iowa Games. The Iowa State Cyclones face the Iowa Hawkeyes at Jack Trice Stadium on Sept. 20. The Daily regrets the error.

In addition, an illustration beside the continuation of the Homecoming story on page two depicted Cy the Cyclone toying with a magic wand and wearing a magician’s hat as part of the Homecoming theme, “Ignite Magic Through Cyclone Spirit.”

For clarification purposes, The Iowa State Daily would like it to be known this image was drawn by a member of the Daily merely as an illustration for the story. Although the artist’s byline expressed to whom the image belonged, some have thought the image belonged to the Homecoming Committee, when it is, in fact, not an official Homecoming image.
