Auction offers good stuff at low prices

An auction of state-owned computers and other equipment will be held by the Iowa Department of Transportation Saturday morning at 9.

The sale will be held at S. 4th Street in the DOT’s blue building, which is located south of the DOT’s sign shop.

The computer equipment for sale includes personal computers and modems, as well as other items. Many printers will also be available, including IBM, Kodak, Epson, Unisys and Texas Instruments brands.

In addition to the computer equipment, the sale will also include shop, survey and office equipment.

Shop equipment available for purchase includes items such as portable generators and power supplies.

Survey equipment for sale includes a Numetrics K145 distance meter and related equipment.

The office equipment for sale includes a Ricoh fax machine, portable copiers, electric typewriters, desks, tables and chairs.

Miscellaneous items to be auctioned include cameras, air conditioners, lawn mowers, fluorescent light fixtures and radios.

The auction items can be inspected by the public at the site of the sale Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 to 9 a.m.

All items must be paid for the day of the sale by cash, cashier’s check or certified check. Payment by personal or company check can only be accepted if accompanied by satisfactory identification.

Purchased items must be removed by Friday, April 18.

Sales tax will be collected on all items, and those people who have a permanent bid number should bring the numbers to the auction.

Food and beverages will be available at the auction site as well.
