Book series press is lookin’ for some Iowa home-cookin’

Sarah Wolf

Does your club, church or restaurant have a cookbook with mouth-watering recipes?

If so, Quail Ridge Press is issuing an invitation for organizations to submit cookbooks for possible inclusion in its Best of the Best from Iowa:Selected Recipes from Iowa’s Favorite Cookbooks.

The collection is scheduled for publication in 1997, and it will be the 22nd volume in the state cookbook series.

There is no cost to be included; all community cookbooks are eligible as long as they are still in print. Just let them know about your cookbook, and if it is chosen as one of the best, your favorite recipes will be included in the new cookbook.

Each recipe contributed will feature the original cookbook’s title, and a picture, description and ordering information will be included in a special Catalog of Contributing Cookbooks section.

The editors of the series, Gwen McKee and Barbara Moseley, will be traveling throughout Iowa in the near future to research the project.

They will be searching for as many cookbooks as possible and hope to gain a greater knowledge of the foods and traditions that make up Iowa cooking.
