A search committee is now accepting nominations for Iowa State’s new vice president for external affairs.

The person chosen for the position would oversee several university units including University Relations, the athletic department, the ISU Foundation, University Museums, WOI AM-FM Radio, the Alumni Association and the Iowa State Center.

Nominations and applications should be sent to the President’s Office, care of Chairman Benjamin Allen of the Vice President Search Committee.

Candidates will be screened by the search committee during the last week in November. A list of finalists will be presented to ISU President Martin Jischke in February.

Reid Crawford, who led external affairs since 1991, left for a similar position at the University of Maryland in September. Murray Blackwelder, president of the ISU Foundation, has been serving as interim vice president for external affairs.

The search committee includes ISU faculty representatives and residents of the Ames community.
