Man follows party goers with shotgun

An Ames man, upset because of a loud party near his residence, allegedly followed party goers with a loaded shotgun Sunday night.

According to police records, Joseph Diemer, 25, 1108 4th St., got into a verbal fight with someone at the party about 2 a.m. He allegedly went back to his apartment and got his shotgun.

Diemer was arrested in his home on third degree aggravated misdemeanor charges. He was holding the fully loaded shotgun at the time of his arrest.

Diemer was released on a $5,000 bond and could face up to two years in jail if convicted.
