Whether you’re looking for a creepy, fun or family-friendly movie to watch this Halloween, these Netflix films will surely satisfy.

Looking for a good old fashioned scary movie this Halloween? Then director David Guy Levy’s “Would You Rather” is the film for you.

This 2012 horror flick follows Iris as she agrees to take part in a competition against 7 other individuals to receive money that will pay for her brother’s cancer treatment. That is, if she is the last one standing. Iris is forced to take part in a series of gruesome “would you rather?” questions that take a deadly turn.

“Would You Rather” is chock full of suspense and gore as you watch in anticipation to find out who is going to be the last victim standing. This film’s twist ending will haunt you for days to come. With stars such as Brittany Snow, Robin Lord Taylor and Johnny Coyne in the credits of this film, you know you are in for a treat.

If you’re more of a comedy fan but still want to get into the Halloween spirit, you’ll find Tyler MacIntyre’s “Patchwork” might suit you better. This movie follows three women, Jennifer, Ellie and Madeleine, after a night of partying when they wake up and find themselves patched together in one body, Frankenstein-style.

This self-aware horror comedy makes sure to not take itself too seriously. From the obnoxious action sequences to the quirky characters, “Patchwork” is a silly take on what could be a traumatizing horror story and makes it light-hearted and giggle-inducing.

If you’re entertaining children this Halloween or you just want a family-friendly movie, then I’d recommend Henry Selick’s 2009 “Coraline.”

Based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, “Coraline” is about a young girl who, after moving into an old apartment building, finds a secret door which leads her to an alternate reality of her normal life. Everything in this parallel universe seems amazing at first but that all changes when Coraline realizes her “other” family is trying to keep her there forever.

“Coraline” is a beautiful film that utilizes stop-motion animation to the best of its ability; creating a fun fantasy display that audiences of all ages can enjoy. This movie captures the creepiness that the Halloween season inspires while still remaining kid-friendly and exciting to watch.
