The Iowa State women’s golf squad will head to Norman, Oklahoma, on Saturday for the Schooner Fall Classic. This will mark their second competition of the year.
In their first event of the year, the Cyclones were one of 12 teams present at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
The ANNIKA Intercollegiate ended with Iowa State in eighth place. The team finished 10-over-par, as well as an incredibly rough round two, where they shot 14-over-par.
On the more positive side of things, the team was led by junior Pammy Chookaew, who shot only one-over-par and placed in a three-way tie for 16th place.
The Cyclones will compete in a field of sixteen teams in Oklahoma. Four other Big 12 squads will also be present, including Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Houston and TCU.
All 15 of the opposing teams in Norman are brand new opponents during the 2024 campaign, giving Iowa State its first look at new iterations of the teams.
The first round will open on Saturday and will continue through Monday, with three rounds of competition spread out across three days.
