The 2025 Ames Live Music Summer Series is underway with the next performance this Wednesday. The local Ames band Mango Soul will be playing after the event begins in Campustown at 4 p.m. and will end at 7 p.m.
There will be vendors set up for food and drink to enjoy during the concert. Family-friendly activities like Jenga, 4 Across and Cornhole will be set up and available to play throughout the night. The event will be set up in Campustown Parking Lot Z. This is located south of Chamberlain Street between Stanton Avenue and Lynn Avenue.
A food truck showdown will be hosted during the event, with at least eight different trucks signed up to participate. This includes Superdog, Bellbottom Mobile Cafe, C’est la Crepe, Comfort Food, Cook’s Tropical Sno, Fresh Fusion, Jethro’s BBQ and Nisha Soul Food. Vendor registration is still available if there is interest in joining the list.
It will be possible to vote for the favorite truck to be crowned as the Food Truck Showdown Champion. The winner will receive both a certificate and bragging rights.
There will also be the potential to buy a beverage from Thirsty Pigs Beer Trailer while listening to the concert.

“The Ames Regional Economic Alliance is committed to driving business and community vitality in the Ames region,” Hurley said. “Our goal is to uplift and positively impact the communities we serve and share the great things our three-county community has to offer.”
