The City of Ames and ISU Office of Sustainability hosts the Rummage RAMPage to keep reusable items out of the landfill during move out and lease changeovers.

At the sale, beginning July 29 – Aug. 2, items will be “priced to move” at $1, $5, $10, and $20. The sale will be open to everyone.

Volunteers are needed to help with the collection of donations of still-usable items, as well as to help run the rummage sale in the parking ramp. Proceeds from the sale will be divided among the non-profit volunteer groups that assist.

“The end of July can be a very stressful and difficult time for students and neighbors. We hope this event can reduce some of the stress and reduce the amount of material sent to the landfill by partnering reusable household goods with new owners,” said Merry Rankin, ISU Sustainability Director and City of Ames Sustainability Coordinator, on the RAMPage website.

You can donate items July 28 – Aug. 1. Click here for a list of acceptable/unacceptable items, or check out our sidebar. Do NOT donate: Mattresses/box springs, bed pillows, tube/console televisions or décor.

Pick-up service will be available for Ames residents who want to donate items but have no way to transport them to the ramp. The pick-up fee is $20 for Ames Residents and $10 for College Students. Click here to register for large item pickup.
