What is road rage?

Road rage is when anger is displayed while driving. This could be yelling, hand gestures, tailgating, or even get to the point where one driver intentionally hits another car.

There are proactive steps that must be taken to prevent road rage.

  • Listening to enjoyable music
  • Understanding that no one is a perfect driver

Geico, an auto insurance company, also suggests to

  • Allow more time for traveling
  • Not using the car horn as much
  • Consider your own driving as a potential factor

While preventing your own road rage is one half of the battle, the other is to diffuse road rage from others. If another driver is getting mad, try

  • Apologizing by mouthing words or waving
  • Slowing down and moving over
