Week four reflections: Olympia Manning

In general, I consider myself to be a kind person. I respect pronouns and all identities and I prioritize other people over myself.

However, I don’t usually consciously think about the things I do like holding the door for people. I believe that the idea of ‘I scratch your back, you scratch mine’ is not always going to be desired, so I don’t expect people to do stuff for me in return.

The things that I went out of my way to do were mainly compliments. I tend to notice changes in style pretty easily, so I notice haircuts and things too. I made sure to compliment two of my peers on their hair — not as a white lie — they looked good.

A small act of kindness could be the difference between a good day and a terrible one. I hope I’m brightening people’s days with my actions.
