As Earth Day approaches, students around Iowa State are doing what they can to help save the environment.

And they are not just active during this time but all year long.

“I always recycle plastics and cans. There’s really no reason to throw it away” — Tyler Vanwinkle, sophomore in accounting

“I take public transportation frequently” — Yingxie Gao, freshman in computer science

“I try to be conscious about recycling, at least, as opposed to throwing it away and being wasteful” — Al-Ameer Rosenje, sophomore in finance

“I know our sorority definitely does highway cleanup.” — Taylor Perdue, freshman in kinesiology

“I definitely walk everywhere” — Rebecca Staib, freshman in kinesiology

“I rollerblade everywhere. I don’t own a car. I also don’t use trash bags” — Daniel Loes, freshman in software engineering

“I definitely use reusable bags consistently. I just think about the things I do” — Ros Dia Abeygunawardena, junior in marketing
