Cyclone Hockey was 12 seconds away from completing its second sweep of the season against Lindenwood before Stephen Bopp tied the game 2-2 with only seconds left in the third period.

The game then went to overtime where the Cyclones suffered another shoot out loss 3-2.

Derek Moser got the start in the net for Cyclone Hockey in both games over the weekend and stopped 14/15 first period shots from Lindenwood. Kevin Walters was the only Lion able to sneak a goal past Moser at 15:06 in the first.

The first period ended with the Lions leading 1-0. Cyclone Hockey outshot Lindenwood 16-13 in the second period but neither team was able to convert on its opportunities.

Then the Cyclones started their comeback. Both Drew Carlson and Nick Sandy found the back of the net to give Cyclone Hockey the 2-1 lead late in the final period before Bopp sent the game to overtime for Lindenwood with just 12 seconds left.

Both teams went scoreless in the five minute overtime period and the game was sent to a shootout. The shootout only lasted three rounds after Lindenwood converted on its first two opportunities and only Tony Uglem converted for Cyclone Hockey.

The two teams could meet again this upcoming weekend as Lindenwood and the rest of the Central States Hockey League visit the Ames/ISU Ice Arena for the CSHL tournament.
