Sophomore Bryanna Fernstrom requested a transfer and now freshman Meredith Burkhall will play a more dominant role.

Iowa State lost its first game without Fernstrom to Texas Tech on Sunday, 69-66 in overtime. ISU coach Bill Fennelly said Burkhall and redshirt freshman Claire Ricketts will need to play more minutes moving forward.
