Coconut oil is not only classified as one of the main natural oils but also as a ‘superfood’. One of the main perks of coconut oil is its ability to increase energy, which in turn increases a person’s ability to burn more fat. Many people know coconut oil as just a beauty product; however, using it in cooking improves the health quality of the food. Many items can be replaced with coconut oil including: shaving cream, lip balm, makeup remover, butter, cooking pan spray, and vegetable oil.

Eucalyptus oil is created through the steam distillation of the leaves from shrubs and trees. This oil has many benefits health-wise. Some popular uses of this oil are as a cooling spray by placing several drops in a spray bottle and spritzing it over the body, or while showering placing some under and on the bridge of the nose and inhaling to clear the mind and promote clear breathing. Another helpful use for Eucalyptus oil is putting a few drops in the bottom of a trash can to help control odor.

Tea Tree oil is an inexpensive, ‘jack of all trades’ oil. In aromatherapy tea tree oil is helpful in alleviating chest and head congestion along with other cold and flu symptoms. For around the house uses tea tree oil can be added to laundry during the wash cycle as a freshener or as a natural toothbrush cleaner to help prevent bacteria and mold.

By placing a few drops on the neck or forehead it calms and clear the mind. By inhaling the smell through a diffuser it helps aid coughs and relieves nervousness and stress.

Lavender oil is used mainly for its soothing properties. It relaxes the mind and body but also used to prevent inflammation. When massaged onto an area of skin it can relieve muscle or joint pain as well as bring relief to burns.
