The ISU volleyball team beat the Texas Christian Horned Frogs in four sets (25-16, 25-22, 17-25, 25-22) to take sole possession of third place in the Big 12.

The first set started out as a back-and-forth match between Iowa State and TCU. That was the case, until an 8-8 tie, however. The Cyclones broke the 8-8 tie and never looked back.

Iowa State would get out to a 19-12 lead at one point against the Horned Frogs. Iowa State would go on to beat TCU 25-16.

The Cyclones had three players (Morgan Kuhrt, Jess Schaben and Natalie Vondrak) with four kills in the first set.

It was all TCU to start the second set. The Horned Frogs held an early 9-3 over the Cyclones. The closest Iowa State would get to TCU was three. After a 15-15 tie, the Cyclones would go on and beat the Horned Frogs, 25-22.

Set three started out like set two, as TCU jumped out an early 9-5 lead. But unlike set two, it stayed that way as the Horned Frogs won 25-17 over the Cyclones.

Unlike sets two and three, Iowa State struck first in set four. It was back and forth for the whole duration of the set. Ultimately, the Cyclones pulled off the win,25-22, over the Horned Frogs.

Iowa State will retake the floor when they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 in Hilton Coliseum.
