Cyclone Hockey takes first game against defending champions

Cyclone Hockey defeated the defending national champions, Central Oklahoma, in the Cyclones first road game of the year.

In their first true test of the year, the No. 7 Cyclones won the game 4-1 over No. 5 Central Oklahoma.

Colton Kramer scored both of the goals in the second period while Jake Bruhn and Jon Severson added goals of their own in the third. Central Oklahoma got their lone goal in the third period.

Central Oklahoma was the No. 1 team in the nation before being swept by Lindenwood in their last series. The Bronchos are now on a three-game losing streak.

The Cyclones were out for revenge after being knocked off by Central Oklahoma in the national tournament last season.

The Cyclones are going for their third sweep of the season Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Central Oklahoma.
