Kyven Gadson isn’t calling it quits just yet.

The former Cyclone, who capped off his collegiate career with a national title this past spring, announced that he would be training as a 2016 Olympic hopeful in a letter on Takedownwrestle.com.

“I don’t want to live with regret or have the thoughts in the back of my mind that I could’ve, I should’ve, or I would’ve…down the road,” Gadson wrote.

Gadson will stay in Ames where he will train with Cyclone Wrestling Club under the tutelage of ISU wrestling coach Kevin Jackson, as well as Trent and Travis Paulson.

Previously, Gadson had hinted that he might not pursue a professional career after college, but ultimately remained undecided until now.

“Growing up, when I wrote down my goals I’m pretty sure I skipped right to Olympic Champion,” Gadson wrote. “That was and still is the pinnacle of wrestling.”

Gadson will try to wrestle for Team USA at 97 kilograms.
