After two rounds at the Miami Hurricane Invitational, the No. 30 ISU women’s golf team has a trio of golfers in contention for medalist honors.

Senior Chonlada Chayanun will have a chance to earn her second consecutive victory if she can make up the three shots that separate her from Hannah Kim of Northwestern.

Also three shots back and tied for fourth place is freshman Nattapan Siritrai.

Chayanun and Siritrai both posted scores of 70 and 72 in the first two rounds.

Freshman Celia Barquin is the third Cyclone with a realistic shot at medalist honors. After a one-under-par round of 70 in the second round, Barquin is at two-over-par for the tournament and tied for 13th place out of 90 golfers.

Junior Cajsa Persson posted a 78 in round two and is eight-over-par for the tournament and tied for 46th place.

Freshman M.J. Kamin also posted a 78. At 15-over-par, she is tied for 80th place.

As a team, Iowa State is in third place out of 16 teams, but face a 16-shot deficit to No. 8 Northwestern. The Cyclones have posted rounds of 286 and 292 and are at 10-over-par for the tournament.

The third and final round will begin March 4 from Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla.
