ISU tennis loses against Drake 4-1

Brian Mozey

The ISU tennis team goes 0-3 against in-state rivals this season after losing 4-1 against Drake today.

This loss brings the team’s record to 3-6 this season and 1-5 in the past six matches.

The highlight of the match was junior Ana Gasparovic’s play in the doubles match after being out for a couple weeks with a wrist injury.

The team lost the doubles point and had to rely on the top four singles players once again. Senior Meghan Cassens wasn’t able to provide the win that was needed to win the match.

The players have two more chances to win this weekend and both are being played tomorrow.

The ISU tennis team is playing a doubleheader at 10 a.m. against Wyoming and 4 p.m. against UMKC on March 7. Both matches will be played at Drake University at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
