Kansas State finished its contest against Iowa State on Feb. 28 with a 22-9 run, earning a one-point victory against a faltering ISU squad.

The Cyclones began the game on fire from deep, netting 8-of-15 3-pointers in the opening half. The second 20 minutes were a different story entirely, as Iowa State connected on only 3-of-12 from behind the arc.

The ISU bench had averaged 25 points per contest during the team’s three-game winning streak, which ended only one game before the matchup with Kansas State. The ISU pine reverted to a former offensive ineptitude against the Wildcats, which appeared to have been erased with the re-emergence of Matt Thomas’ 3-point stroke and the acclimation of Bryce Dejean-Jones to his role as the sixth man.

The ISU bench scored a meager three points against Kansas State, making only 1-of-11 shots on the afternoon. The team as a whole shot 43.1 percent from the field.
