Kelly Schiro

The Supreme Court of the United States will hear a combined case that includes cases from Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee. In June they should decide once and for all where gay marriage stands in the eyes of the law across the country.

Timeline of Events:

February 27: Plaintiffs’  (same sex-couples and legal teams) brief is due to the SCOTUS

March 27: Defendants’ (states) brief is due to the SCOTUS

April 17: Final reply briefs are due

Late April: Oral arguments, 90 minutes for whether or not same-sex couples have right to marry and 60 minutes for whether or not out-of-state same-sex marriage licenses have to be recognized.
