With the news that come 2015, HBO will be offering their online streaming service, HBO GO, as an independent service. While it is currently only available alongside a cable subscription, think of their new offering as a platform similar to Netflix. With this news, let us take a look at some of the must-watch material.

With every television series available, one may be overwhelmed initially. A few series that will surely treat you right are Entourage, the Sopranos, and Girls. With the movie set to release in June, now is a perfect time to dive into Entourage. The series follows a rising actor and his group of friends as they take on Los Angeles and everything the city has to offer. Next we have the Sopranos. A true HBO classic, we follow the crime family through the highs and lows of their personal and professional lives. Lastly, we have Girls. With the fourth season set to launch in 2015, this series follows a group of girls in their early 20s. With a dark tone, this series offers a refreshing take on life after college, where the characters lives do not always go as planned.

While the television series offered on HBO GO will remain pretty constant, the movies offered are always changing. This rotation mostly works on a month-by-month basis, with new movies being added throughout the month. A few gems that are currently available are Batman Begins, The Warriors, and American History X. Between the first of a dark superhero trilogy, a cult classic, and a moving performance by Edward Norton and company, these picks would not be a bad few to start with.

While the series and movies are more than worth the subscription, there are also foreign films, documentaries, comedy specials, and plenty of boxing. Stay tuned for when the first streaming only subscription is offered.
