Cyclone Hockey completes sweep against Colorado State

Cyclone Hockey completed a sweep against the Colorado State Rams with a 3-1 victory on Nov. 22 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

As they did the previous night, the No. 14 Cyclones (12-8-3) got on the board first. This time it came courtesy of Scott Antonsen squeezing a puck through the goalie’s pads with just over three minutes left in the period.

The second period started out similarly, but this time the No. 19 Rams (9-8-0) grabbed a goal with just over three minutes left. A CSU shot was deflected off a skater in front of the net, deceiving Cyclone goalie Scott Ismond, and it found the back of the net. The score remained tied at one going into the third period.

Following a gritty play by Joey DeLuca to keep the puck in the offensive zone, Alex Stephens executed on a wrist shot that found the top-left corner on the net. J.P. Kascsak added to that goal with a wrist shot in front of the net that beat the CSU goalie.

Cyclone Hockey’s next match up comes will be at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Lindenwood University.
