Recent music happenings

Over the last few weeks a ton has been happening in the music industry, from earth shattering record sales, to album releases from music legends, we have seen it all.

Let us begin with Taylor Swift, who’s new album, “1989”, sold almost 1.3 million copies in its first week alone. In an age where there are many alternatives to actually buying music, it is truly rare to see numbers like that from anyone.

Two of music’s biggest legends, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney have made a splash in recent weeks for multiple reasons. Dylan recently released “The Basement Tapes”. With almost 140 songs on the six cd pack and a revamped quality of the recordings, this set is a treat for all. As far as Paul McCartney goes, he recently released a collector’s edition of the “New” album. Dylan and McCartney fans, along with all other music lovers can rejoice with these two redone releases by two of the best ever to take the stage.

In other news, the Foo Fighters and Pink Floyd both came out with new, fresh albums this week, stay with us at The Daily for more on those releases in the near future.
