In the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Championships, Kerns led the Florida Gators’ soccer team in points with 35, goals with 13, game-winning goals with five, and tied for first in assists with nine during her senior year. Kerns finished eighth on Florida’s career points list with 62. She also was named to SoccerBuzz.com’s All-American team in 2008 along with first team All-SEC. Kerns is now the assistant coach at Iowa State, where it all started for her.

“I absolutely love Ames. I love this community,” Kerns said. “I wanted to come back to Ames no matter what, and Tony [Minatta] gave me this great opportunity.”

Kerns is content with where she is now and doesn’t plan on changing it up in the near future.
