Redshirting ISU guard Hallice Cooke will undergo surgery in New York City to repair cartilage tears in both hips, according to ISU spokesman Matt Shoultz in a Cyclone Sidebar article.

The Oregon State transfer will have surgery on one hip Oct. 27 and the other four weeks later. He decided to take care of the injuries his redshirt season while he sits out under transfer rules.

The recovery period is expected to be from six to eight months.

Cooke averaged 8.2 points and 2.5 assists per game as a freshman at OSU, shooting 45.6 percent from three-point range.
