While many of the ISU women’s track athletes took a week off to rest, other team members made the short trip to Des Moines to compete in the Jim Duncan Relay.

In particular, Jessica Nichols had a big day as she took third in both the 100 and 200-meter dash events. Nichols time of 22.15 in the 200-meter dash was just .01 seconds off her career best.

Also competing was Bree Woelber, who was making her outdoor season debut. The sophomore placed third in the 100-meter hurdle event.

Other notable finishes include Krista Shoeman placing second in the 400-meter hurdle event and the ISU’s 4×400-meter relay team also taking second.

The team will be busy next week as the they split up and head to three different meets, with athletes competing at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, Kansas Relays, or the Mt. Sac Relays
